FinOS is bookkeeping and financial reporting software. It records your transactions, produces your financial statements, computes your corporation tax from parameters you confirm, keeps your capitalisation table and offers a valuation range.

FinOS is a tool, not a firm. Using it does not constitute an accountancy engagement, an audit, tax or legal advice, or an independent valuation of your business. The amounts it computes are proposals derived from your own data and from parameters you confirm.

You remain solely responsible for your tax and statutory filings, for your annual accounts and for filing them. Tax rates and thresholds shown in the service come with the text that grounds them and the date that text was last reviewed; it is for you to check them against the finance act in force before any filing.

Tax coverage is limited to the countries the service declares it covers, today Cameroon and the United Kingdom. For other countries, bookkeeping works; the tax module does not apply.

Opening an account requires a valid email address and a password of at least eight characters. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for what is done from your account.

A file can hold several people: owner, accountant, contributor, viewer. The file owner invites, assigns roles and withdraws them. Each role carries a distinct scope of reading and writing, and you are responsible for the access you open.

A recorded entry cannot be edited or deleted: it is reversed, as in accounting. This rule is structural and cannot be lifted on request.

The first month is free and asks for no card. At its end you pick a paid plan or you export your data. Absent a choice, the file becomes read-only and your data stays exportable.

Paid subscriptions are monthly, with no minimum term, and renew automatically each month until cancelled. Cancellation is made from your account and takes effect at the end of the current period; amounts already paid for a started period are not refunded pro rata.

Payments are handled by Stripe under Managed Payments: Stripe is the merchant of record and calculates, collects and remits the taxes applicable in your country. We have no access to any card data.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Local currency amounts shown on the site are indicative and rounded. We may change prices; any change is announced to you at least thirty days before it applies to your subscription.

The Fund plan is quoted individually. Its scope is agreed with you and is covered by a separate agreement.

The data you enter, import or upload into FinOS remains yours. We do not sell it, rent it, or use it to train models.

Your financial statements, your general ledger and your capitalisation table are exportable at any time as PDF, Excel and Word, including once your trial has ended and you have taken no plan.

When a file is closed, your data is kept for thirty days so you can retrieve it, then deleted. Accounting entries and supporting documents may be kept longer where the law requires it; the privacy policy sets out those periods.

You undertake to use FinOS only for lawful purposes, to upload only data you are entitled to hold, and not to attempt to reach a file that is not yours.

The accuracy of the data entered is yours. A financial statement is worth only what the entries behind it are worth.

We may suspend an account for a serious breach of these undertakings, after warning you unless urgency or the law prevents it.

FinOS can draft a proposed entry from a sentence you dictate or an invoice you upload. This assistance relies on a language model that you choose: none, an open model, your own Anthropic or OpenAI key, or a key we provide depending on your plan.

No proposal reaches the books without your review and validation. Responsibility for the recorded entry remains yours.

API keys you entrust to us are encrypted before storage and are never displayed back to you. Content sent to the provider you chose is governed by that provider's terms; the privacy policy sets out what is sent.

We use reasonable means to keep the service available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or through our hosting providers.

Our liability under these terms is limited to the amounts you paid over the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to it. We are not liable for indirect loss, in particular loss of business, revenue or opportunity.

None of these limitations excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

We may change these terms. Any substantial change is notified to you by email at least thirty days before it takes effect. If it does not suit you, you may cancel free of charge before that date and export your data.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
